Dear Crohnee,
There has not been too much news this past week in the Crohn’s Disease world, but a few interested statistics did come out (such as how many Remicade Patients have been treated).
Also, I am going to start doing some more reviews of popular Crohn’s Disease products that you may be enticed to buy – such as the Maker’s Diet…
Remicade Has Treated 770,000 Patients World-Wide
An interesting article that revealed that between the arthritis patients and Crohn’s Disease patients, over 770,000 patients world-wide now have been treated with Remicade.
Furthermore, Remicade has recently received an extension by the FDA for an approved drug considering that it is literally saving lives it seems (it did mine).
But, don’t get me wrong, this is a VERY strong drug and I wish every day that I did not have to take it – but it really came to the point that I had no other choices.
Anyways, I blogged about it on the home page, here is the link.
No Smoking Before Surgery
Did you know that smoking can cause problems during surgery. I was recently talking to a medical student (who is not a doctor yet) who told me that you should NOT smoke at least a month before surgery and a month after.
Besides the fact that you should never smoke period – I guess it’s more specifically a risk if you smoke when you’re about to go into surgery?
More Reviews Coming Soon – Starting with Makers Diet
More of you have been writing to me asking CrohnsHelp.com to do some reviews of the various products and services out there to treat Crohn’s Disease. I think that is a very valid request and so I am trying to accommodate starting with a review of Makers Diet.
Discussion Board Coming Soon…
Remember last week I announced that we are about to launch a new membership site for Crohnees – the cost is only going to be $37/year – just to help us cover some of our costs (I am incurring about $3,000 a month because of all the advertising I pay as well).
The key point here though is that this new site will have a FULL blown discussion board that will allow you to interact with other Crohnees around the clock.
Please keep an eye for an e-mail about it coming up soon.
Alright nothing more for this week!
