New Gene Connected to Crohn's Disease Found…
There seems to be a second gene mutation that has found that is linking to Crohn's Disease. This particular gene contributes to the theory that there is a problem in the immune system that causes Crohn's Disease.
Scientists have found proof that a gene weakens the response to certain intestinal bacteria.
Undoubtely scientists are very excited becuase this could lead to much better medications that address the CAUSE of the disease and not just the symptoms.

More Information on Illiostomy Reversals...
As many of you know, I had some complications with my Illiostomy reversal. More discussion with my doctors led us to understand what happened.
It was partly linked to the way my reversal was done the first time around. There are different ways to re-connect the colon to the small intestine and each comes with it's own risks.
My incident was a bit out of the ordinary, please understand that most reversals do absolutely fine. But, before you get yours or ever need one, I want you to understand the differences, there is a "straight stitch" or a "V pouch."
To read more, here is my full blog post on it...
A Vaccine For Crohn's Disease?

Research and testing has already begun on this possible vaccine. Not only is it a vaccine, but it's being said to also be a possible TREATMENT for Crohn's Disease...
