Hey db_90,

I don't mean to throw you off - listen, I don't think that ALL
alternative treatments won't help, but I think we have to be
VERY careful of these crazy "guarantees" out there - I almost
lost my life to them.

I think that other vitamins and other treatments can help, but
should be done in CONJUNCTION with your main western
treatments - and never make the mistake I made of actually
not telling your GI about what you're doing!

Please take a second to read what happened to me and how
I almost died because of it ...

I really want to try something else besides the medication. i'm so tired of taking a handfull of pills four times a day. all these doctors want to do is medicate. I feel like its just a cover up and its not getting to the root of the problem. the only problem with these alternative medicine doctors is that its selfpay-they don't take any insurance and the one's i've been looking at are at least $300-$400 just for the consult! ouch

I used to always be looking for a bathroom after meals. I used to wait in a restaurant to go to the bathroom before I would leave or I would time it so I would be near a bathroom shortly after leaving. I would have to get to a bathroom right away. Once I felt like I had to go, I had to go. I would have diarrhea, stomach cramps and I would be nauseous a lot. I am in sales. When I would take a customer out to lunch/dinner, I would be running to the bathroom after the meal which would delay our departure. I would try to make meetings where I didn't have to leave with them. I would not take public transportation unless I could time my meals around it. Now I have meals with customers, get up from the table and leave with them. What a difference.

What I am doing now is Chinese whole food herbs. I also drink a Chinese herbal cleansing tea to remove the toxins out of my body. I have altered my diet to eat only organic foods and I have eliminated red meat. I have also eliminated wheat gluten which feeds the candida in your body. The concept is to rid your body from toxins, get your body back in "balance" so your immune system can start to regenerate (in this case) a new lining to the colon. It is really all about nutrition and feeding the body the right nutrients. None of this are supplements or vitamins. It is all whole food herbs. It is important to start eating only organic foods. When I started researching this, I was amazed at what they put in and allow in our foods! Organic foods won't have pesticides, antibiotics, growth hormones, etc ... . The Asians have a different approach. They look at the body as being in "balance" and the body being able to heal itself. The body is really amazing if we just let it do its thing and stop poisoning it with pesticide ladened, fatty, sugary food.

Since I have started this, I no longer am looking for a bathroom. I have one normal bowel movement a day and I don't have to run to the bathroom immediately. I can't tell you the last time I was nauseous and had stomach cramps. Overall, I feel better. I was very skeptical of this. My wife actually found this and harped on me until I would try it. I just looked at this and said are you kidding? Chinese herbs, cleansing tea, organic, you must be nuts. I am so glad she kept on me. It did take a lot convincing. I am so glad she did. She started this for her own issues (unrelated to Crohns) and I saw a big improvement in her.

If you want more information, e-mail me or send me a private message. There is a DVD you can watch that explains more in-depth.

I just want to clarify my earlier post. I am not taking any "medicine". I am taking food. The point is that the human body is an amzing machine. If you feed it properly and not introduce toxins, it will repair itself and keep itself healty. I am taking whole food Chinese herbs designed to give the body the proper nutrition it needs. I also stick with only organic foods (as much as possible) to keep the toxins out of my body. I have been doing this for 1 year. I don't think I am cured, but I will tell you that I am sympton free. I have one normal bowel movement a day, no nausea, no pain and I actually enjoy eating again. I have my life back.

the body is reacting to microbs and bad bacteria in the intestinal system. those microbs, or whatever they are, feed of of carbs and iron. You need to stay on a low carb diet and dont take iron. I cured my self through a low carb diet, cipro, and regular moderate use of striaght vodka on the rocks with no sugar. The vodka I found out by accident is cleaning out the system, probably killing of the bad bacteria and microbs. All I know is it works! I told this to my doctor and he laughed and agreed that vodka can have some good remedies, but he cant promote its use, odviously cause hes a doctor, but he then tells me that if you rub vodka on a rash it will get rid of it. To many doctors I talk to just continue to go with the idea that its just an imune system problem, but I am living proof that what you put into your system can cure this disease. My regular doctor would sit in her office and argue with me that my diet has nothing to do with it, and I could eat whatever i wanted, and that it was my imune system. She would then pump me up on drugs that never worked and eventually I had my entire colon removed, and that didn't work. It was just by accident that I saw another doctor who put me on two different antibiotics, and told me to keep taking them. i dont think he realized what he was doing, maybe he was just preventing me from having an inffection after my surgery, but after about 4-6 weeks I started to noticed an improvement, so I went to my regular family doctor and told him I was improving, and because he is a good doctor with an open mind he gave me CIPRO, and I just kept taking it. After realizing what was helping me improve, I began to investigate more about my diet and what could be causing my problems and improvement. I read about the SC diet that many use to improve thier lives. It goes on the idea of a low carb diet, but say that you can still eat natural sugars cause they digest better. I found that diet didnt work for me because it didnt matter what sugar I ate, it caused a problem, so I just cut out all sugar, and carbs, and took CIPRO. After several months I notice small improvements, it was slow but gradual, to the point where I was cutting back on my cipro and only taking it on the weekends. Then one night I went to my brothers house and he wanted to get me drunk, and I told him I couldn't have anything with sugar in it, so he just gave me straight vodka on the rocks and I drank that all night and got pretty drunk. The next morning I woke with a hang over, but I noticed I wasnt having any inflamation, or problems with my insides. It was completely gone. So I stopped taking my cipro, and I would just drink some vodka every few days. It has taken years, but I have slowly improved. I am to the point now where I can almost eat and drink whatever I want. I only get small problems if I have too much dairy like milk or cheese. The doctors will disagree with me but what crohns disease sufferes have in them is something in their system, bacteria or microbs, that is causing thier imune system to react, and you have to fight it with what works to get rit of it. Antibiotic cipro, low carb diet, vodka to clean out the pipes, enemas to clean out the colon.
