I think whenever they can kind a cure not only for crohn's disease but any disease, it is a BIG deal. Baby steps are better than no steps. It would be amazing to live without this disease. I'm tired of the pain, fevers & all the tests. |

Anik - This is WONDERFUL news! As a person living with this any step to finding a treatment to effectively treat this disease is a step in the right direction! Because it has been known to run in families, I'm especially hopeful for my 2 daughters! I pray so often that they will not have to deal with this. They are especially volnerable because I have Crohn's and their dad has Ulcerative Colitis! - what are THOSE odds? So, let's pray that the "firewall" has been broken and we will all be symptom free soon!!!!!!!

This is great!
My only question would be how does this affect those that dont 'contract' it genetically? I know it's not an established fact but, there is the thought that Crohn's is a disease that's developed over time rather than something that you inherit... |

Hey, I think that even if you didnt GET it genetically, they are finding that that simple mutation or so gene is in you. That helps them better create medications and it also gives them a better way of diagnosing it (maybe being able to better read your flare-ups)?
Who knows...
