About CrohnsHelp.com
CrohnsHelp.com launched in March 2006 by
Anik Singal. The purpose of CrohnsHelp.com is to educate the
public about Crohn's Disease and to help those who suffer
from Crohn's to find good solutions and maintain their disease
in remission. Our goal is to help you to help yourself while
developing an active online community for Crohnees.
CrohnsHelp.com manages an active blog on
our home page, the Crohn's
Disease Blog. We try our best to update the blog any time
there is important Crohn's related news.
CrohnsHelp.com was founded by Anik Singal. Anik Singal has
was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in 1997. He ended up seeking
medical attention when the pain was so bad that he stopped
eating all together. Anik was only 13 when he was diagnosed.

Personal Message From Anik Singal:
With the help of medication, I was able to control the condition. Then, I read an article in a credible magazine that discussed a clinic that was treating Crohn's Disease with herbal medicine.
After my first visit to the clinic, I was very excited. The doctors there
literally told me that they could completely "cure" my condition with the use of Chinese Herbs and vitamins.
Needless to say, my faith in this clinic was misplaced. I became very ill and was
eventually put back on Remicade, which I was using to control the condition
before I started going to the clinic...
Six weeks later, the doctors at the clinic took me off of the Remicade again, and
started me back on the herbal treatment. The process of starting the Remicade and
then stopping the Remicade and using the herbal treatment over and over again failed,
and my health became worse - much worse.
The doctors at the clinic even tried to convince me that
the pain and symptoms of Crohn's Disease were only occurring
because I was being weaned off of the Remicade. This
wasn't true. The disease was out of control!
These doctors did all of this without doing any testing.
No colonoscopies, endoscopies, CT scan, rectal exam,
or even a general physical exam were conducted. They
failed to do any blood tests to measure sugar levels.
These doctors failed me in every sense of the word,
and as a lay person, I followed their instructions like
a lamb being led to the slaughter house!
This is why CrohnsHelp.com now exists. I want others to avoid the pain and suffering
that I encountered. I don't want others to read an article in a well-known magazine
and fall prey to these types of doctors.
I want people to be informed about the disease and the treatment of the disease.

Currently, all of our costs are being handled personally by the founder. We are incurring many costs related to writing, programming, web-design, research, overall development and active marketing of the website.
We are now accepting any monetary donations that you can offer to help us cover the costs in building CrohnsHelp.com.
Our short-term future goals include building
an entire interactive community where Crohn's patients can
interact with one another and personally help each other.
We are also looking to actively begin raising money for Crohn's
Disease research.
Please note that your donations will cover
all administrative charges, maintenance fees, content development,
web development and further marketing ventures for CrohnsHelp.com.
All remaining funds will be placed in a research fund to award
to different research projects (that CrohnsHelp.com visitors
vote for).
